I started talking to my husband about a month ago regarding a conversation I had with God about wanting to have a conference centered on Faith and Business. While God was speaking to me, I kept thinking of all the reasons why I couldn’t do it or wasn’t ready. In the midst of all my reasons, God said “just move.” I don’t know how you have conversations with God, but when I talk to Him, He’s direct and clear. The weekend of September 28th, I started writing out the concept for the conference and what the goals would be. Someone called me the following Friday about something else, someone who is influential in the nonprofit community. When I talked to her about the conference, she thought it was a great idea and stated that she would review my concept and see how the entity she’s connected to could assist. Of course, my emotions immediately whelped up, as I started walking out my faith in God. That Sunday, I had another conversation with someone influential in the business community and shared my thoughts and had a great conversation about the conference. In less than two weeks, the “move” God asked me to do was starting to manifest in a beautiful and metamorphosis way.

So here I am, a month after I started to write out my concept, with a confirmed conference date and agenda, and a tentative location secured. I can smile now because these are the moments that remind me that “faith without works is dead.” God sometimes just needs us to move and then, keep moving. Many times, we don’t know what the move is, and we’re not sure of our next step. But in many cases, I’ve learned how to journal and write out what He gives me, and then ask God to connect me with the right people and resources. He always provides. His provision is enough. His love is enough. His support is enough. When you walk in faith, God will provide exactly what’s needed.
